Ignition timing '93 240 B230F

Hi, Fellow Brickboaders.

Based on the timing marks(10 deg.20 deg) on the lower timing belt cover, can the timing be reset?

Using an inductive timing light with engine at tickover (approx.750 RPM) the timing appears to be in advance of 20 deg.

I have just replaced the timing belt using tool 5284. The timing marks on the crank, cam and intermediate pulleys lined up accurately (in my view) but at TDC the distributor rotor was slightly off center of the tic on the distb.body? Will this effect timing & performance.

Car runs well.

Morton

Yes, you slipped a tooth and the performance will suffer. It might be corrected with distributor adjustment using the timing light.
