Rear mounted speakers 940 900 1994

I have a '94 940, i bought the car used and discovered that one of the speakers mounted in the back is blown, i tried removing it myself but couldn't seem to get it out, does some have a repair manual that they could email to me, and where can i find good replacement speakers? thanks-

I had the same situation in the same model & year 944. The local car stereo shop did it in an hour - Pioneer Premier 6x9 speakers ($80)+ installation ($40). Required seat/deck removal. Not worth the time/stress it would have cost me to do it myself.

I did this in my '93 944 and man was it ever a pain in the ass! I had to take out the entire back seat and rear deck then drill new holes for the speakers (not a problem) and then put everything back together. Total time: 3-4 hours. Check the 700/900 FAQ for full details. Specifically, look at this one. As for new speakers, check out www.crutchfield.com. They'll show you all the speakers that'll fit your car. I got some Pioneer 6x9's for about $60 that sound pretty good..

I believe you will have to pull out the rear seats, then the deck cover. The rest will be self-explanatory.
