Interior panel/seat cover sources 120-130

Hi folks,

I am restoring the interior of a '67 2-door Amazon. I have a new headliner and new dash pad, but I want the best possible seats/side panels/door panels I can get.

I would really like NEW pieces, but realize this may be impossible.

Does anyone have a source for this stuff? How about Europe?

Any good interior resto. services out there who can make original-looking panels and seat covers?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Roll on!

I ordered seat covers (actually re-upholter kit) from J.C. Whitney. They were tweed front with vinyl side & back in a box labeled "Sew-Fine". I was surprised that the covers fit perfectly. The seats needed to be disassembled, some stitching & hog rings (included) were required. $135 well spent.

Swedish Classics looks they have some nice door panel replacements...

    Great info!

I have a lot to work with now.

I am so psyched to churn out a "new" 122 some day. Could be years.

Sometimes I wish they still produced these sweet cars at the factory, but it sure makes them special when you have to pour your life into them to get a new one.

    Good luck with your projects.

    Thanks All

How about having an auto upholstery shop make new seat covers ( not slip ons but reupholstery) for the seats. This assumes the padding and cushions are in reasonably good shape. As for the door panels, they can also be recovered if the fiber board panels are still in good shape.

For my 164 I found that the rear fiber board panels were fine. The fronts had deteriorated along the bottom edge. I made replacements from thin sheets of polycarbonate plastic using the original as a template and then cut to shape and drilled holes for the snap in clips. I did my own door panel upholstery using 1/4 foam backer and fabric to match the seat upholstery. The upholstery shop did the work on the seats and supplied all the material necessary for me to do the door panels. They do not look same as original but the overall look is fine.

While I've not seen them in the flesh, the word [OK, from one of the founders]is that the stuff available from the newly formed Round Fender Register [www.roundfender.org]is first class. And, if you join for a measly $10, your purchases are at member's discount. I'm just waiting for my first order of a bumper center section and new front mat [the full one as original] due in about 10 days. David

Hmmmm, Mogdriver seems like a rather strange "handle" for a Volvo person, but then I ought to know (look at my email address).

Dave, I too have had good results with the pieces that Ive purchased from Duncan at the Round Fender Register. Of course there's more to get yet, but the chrome pieces were first rate--in fact better than some factory bumpers I bought from Volvo a few years ago. I ended up sending those NEW parts out to be replated so they would look good enough to put on the car. Ive gotta order all 3 front bumper pieces, but that will put a dent in the ol' wallet.

The rubber pieces I ordered have been nice as well.

      Good Luck
