Has anyone found an inexpensive place to obtain an Engine Wiring Harness ( 88 780 PRV V6 ), mine crumbles when I look at it (107,000 miles). Oh ya, are there any brave souls out there that have attempted to change the knock sensers on the same engine ( it looks like the only way is to remove the intake manifold )

Thanks for all the info, it will be a week or so before I can do all the stuff I've learned so far.By the way as far as 88 -780's not having crumbling wiring the only thing I can say is it's an early 88 and I'm sure that being it was assembled in Italy there was probably some time before the newer wiring was incorperated into the production or maybe they had some sets left over from 87. I'll probably get a new/used wiring harness, and thanks to all for not flaming the spelling in the original post, I was tired.

If you can, get a new Volvo wiring harness for a bit over $200 and save yourself some grief. Wiring harnesses and connectors disintegrate even on '95 and '96 960 Volvos. It is wishful thinking that the problem was solved long ago. Still, I new harness will work well hopefully for over five years. A used or repaired harness is a can of worms. I have been there and I know others that have been there too.

Are you sure you have an 88?
Common idea was that 88 and newer harnesses should be ok!!!!
You will be a surprise for Dave !!
On the other side, on a car-model with 5 different frontbrakes,
2 different steerings and about 4 different instrument clusters,
everything is possible.
