1.98 lb (US) Freon 900 1996

The A/C system takes 1.98 lb (US) Freon, thats almost 32 oz, freon cans have 12 oz, any ideas how to only put 2/3 or 8 oz on the third can.
Thanks

Sure. Use your gauge manifold and turn it off when you get the right
pressures. Shouldn't add freon without monitoring pressures anyway - a
liquid-full system will blow your compressor, not to mention the coils.

A/C system are always charged by weight. The system charge is only for an empty and evacuated system. For a partial discharge, you have to go by gauge readings according to the ambient temp and humidity at the time.

Go spend a couple dollars on a "Diet Scale". Get a one pound unit.

Place your can-o-gas, with fittings, into the tray and mark the tare weight.

    Subtract from there.
