tail lights don't match 700

I have just put new (2nd hand) taillights on my 87 740t, and now find that one side has 2 brake lights and no fog light, and the other side has only 1 brake light and 1 fog light. We don't get much fog around here, so how do I get 2 brake lights on both sides? (so that the ***** bulb failure warning light doesn't come on every time I touch the brakes)

    Can you swap in the circuit boards from the original lights? Or, did you swap and still have this weird problem?
