Question for '78 240 owners 200 1978

My question is about the operation of the k-jet injection when cranking.
On my '78, I never get that short fuel pump run when the ignition is first
switched on. I've had later model k-jet cars where the fuel pump always
ran briefly when the ignition was switched on. Should the 78's fuel pump
have that brief priming run when the ignition's switched on? My pump
doesn't run until the starter engages.

No; the fuel pump only runs when the ignition is firing, i.e., when the engine is turning over.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about wiring in a momentary contact
switch to run the fuel pump before cranking. I think it might help,
especially when the cars been sitting for several days.
