Interesting wheel torque question

I'm going to be using spacers to install 850 wheels onto my 740T. Now, I was reading the FAQ. I know the torque specs on the 740 wheels is around 67 ft-lbs, but in the FAQ it says the 850 is 80-something. The spacer is not an adapter; it is going to fit to the hub via the original lugnuts. To install the 850 wheels the spacer accepts 850 wheel bolts. So, do I torque the spacer to the hub at 67 and then the wheels to the spacer at 80? Or should I do 67 (or 80) for both. This seems complicated for my Polish brain...

    Interesting wheel torque question

I would do everything at 65-70 ft-lbs. I don't think it would matter what amount you torque the bolts since it's only holding the spacer to the wheel, and it won't endanger the brake rotors.

    Interesting wheel torque question

Actually, to me, that sounds like an adapter. The thing is held on by your original studs and accepts the 850 bolts. A spacer, IMHO, would be something that you install longer studs that go thru the unit, and then the wheel mounts on that.

As for the torque issue, I don't know! :) I would probably just torque them all to 80. For the wheel to adapter, what you really want to be paying attention to is what was originally specified for that wheel, so like you say, 80. For the spacer to the car, it probably won't matter if you do 67 or 80.
