Skipping excelleration 200 1980

So a few weeks ago the car dies and I get the main fuel pump replaced. Worked fine for a few weeks now it has started to skip occasionally ( jerkey ) when I excellerate. Mostly in 1st and 2nd gears ( sometimes 3rd on fast excelleration).
So I replaced the fuel filter which was making a LOUD humming noice.
New fuel filter still HUMMING LOUDLY, excelleration skipping is less frequent but still present. Does anyone think it's the fuel feed pump? What would make the new fuel filter hum so loudly?
Thanks for the info..
Kyber

My guess would be pre-pump... pre pump being bad could have also been what killed your main pump.

On 240s if you take the carpet out off the trunk, there is a removable plate on the upper part of the trunk floor. Remove this plate, and you can acess your pre-pump to test it/replace it without removing the tank.

Good luck :)

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
Any idea on why the old and the new fuel filters are humming so loudly?
I'm guessing fuel feed from the sketchy pre-pump.
