Turn signal buzzing/not working 200 1990

My 1990 240DL Wagon's turn signal has stopped working. Sometimes I get a buzzing sound when I try to use it, sometimes I get nothing at all. My hazards work fine. I've checked all my fuses and thet are fine too.

Anyone got any advice? Would it be a fix I could handle myself?

Thanks,
Sam

PS-My fuel gauge isn't working either, anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I have experienced this problem with my 240 periodically (every few years) and it's corrosion caused by dissimilar metals of the fuses and fuse box terminals . Disconnect the battery .Take your fuses out one by one and clean the ends and the fuse box connectors with fine sand paper and re-install . It would not hurt to coat the ends lightly with grease (preferably the type that electricians use with aluminum service entrance wire - availble at Home Depot electrical dept but regular grease or silicone spray is better than nothing )

By the way, many on this forum refer to this grease as "conductive" grease, though I think its purpose is to keep water and air from the junction of the two metals. I put my ohmmeter probes into a dollup of Ox-Gard. It doesn't conduct enough electricity to measure ( > 10 megohms ). I wonder what makes this stuff special?

I think it might be your ts relay, a 1" black cube under the drivers right kick panel. Should be cheap and quick to try.
