Esther Downs 200 1980

Hi

I've been out of contact (no e-mail or internet access due to various problems) for at least 6 months or so.

I'm wondering how Esther Downs is getting on. I was praying for her at the time. I was keeping up with her progress, and she was walking, but only just and with difficulty and assistance. Does anyone know how she is now?

thanks

Alan Clarke, Australia.

    Re: Esther Downs 200 1980

    Hey Alan!

    Don't fall off down there!

We were able to go over for Esther's wedding on November 14th,

just short of 1000 miles each way. Both of her sisters were there,

and all her nieces and nephews except one. The wedding was great.

They went down to Jekyll Island, off the Georgia coast for a short

honeymoon and are now back home. I would not go so far as to say

that she has made a complete recovery although she gets around

pretty well. Her standing and walking endurance is pretty limited

and she still has a body full of hardware. I anticipate that

airport security will be a real nightmare for her. She is gaining

in endurance but I doubt that she will ever be able to be a restaurant

chef again. I believe she is planning to return to being a personal

chef for her former clients, however. She is now Mrs. James Maples.

Both she and James have made tremendous spiritual growth over the

past year and we are very proud of them.

She is VERY happy with the 240 and it looks BEAUTIFUL. I'll see

if I can figure out how to post a couple pictures soon.

The last update we had from her dad, George, was she is just fine, probably married by now and the car, so expertly fixed up by James B. Stoney, was delivered. So in that case, all's well that ends well. It's seems to have been a miracle she survived the crash let alone made a full recovery.
