Center Wheel covers 200 1983

Ugh, didn't even realize it until this morning when I was walking toward my brick. One of my center wheel covers is gone! I have the spokes/fins alloy Volvo rims with the lug nut covers that has "Volvo" on it. Well, I think it must have fallen off when I was on the freeway yesterday. Must be those damn potholes and crappy bumps on the 10 freeway! Anyhow, does anyone know where I can get a replacement or maybe all 4 center wheel covers? Does IPD have them? What about dealers?

You know, come to think of it, it must have been kind of funny for the guy behind me seeing "one of them old Volvos falling apart on the freeway"! Haha! But I still I love it. For some strange reason, I take great pride in the fact that most people think Volvos (wagons in particular) are ugly and that most sane people wouldn't want to be "caught dead in one"!

"...must have been kind of funny for the guy behind me seeing "one of them old Volvos falling apart on the freeway"! Haha!"

Actually, he stopped to pick up your hubcap. He's selling it on eBay for $50.

"...most sane people wouldn't want to be 'caught dead in one'!"

Here's where you have the last laugh. The 240 is so rugged and safe, those people's chances of being caught dead in a 240 are essentially zero. It's rumored that during a five year time span in the 1990's, not one single person died in a Volvo 240 accident in the US. (I don't have the source of that data.)

240s are so downright plain 'n unattractive that nobody steals 'em, either (notice I did NOT say "ugly," 'cause beauty's in the eye of the beerholder...). And that's 'cause they wouldn't be caught dead in one!

"One of my center wheel covers is gone!"

Remove the other one so your car has matched wheels — at least on that side.

Check Ebay for "GL alloy centercaps" or "Volvo hubcaps" where ther is almost always a set. They go for $10-20 each depending and I have seen and sold some perfect ones there. I have one odd one left you can have but it is not too pretty.

Check these to used parts sellers:

    http://members.home.com/stevekafasis/

    http://www.volvousedparts.com/

From the first site listed, I bought some used suspension parts, and from the second I bought a couple of used center caps for 240 turbo wheels. I'd highly recommend both of them.

    Good luck.
