will these tires work? 200 1980

i'm the proud driver of an 80 240 DL and the current tires are 185/75 14. i live in upstate new york and it's time to put some snow tires on yet grad school sucks all my cash. i've been searching for a nice set of used (if possible) and found them....but the size is 195/75 14. will these work. my knowledge of tires is rather elementary. thanks for your help and/or education.

I have Dunlop D60 195/75-14 on my '90 245 and had problems with snow packing in my fender wells which limited my suspension travel. Large bumps caused the suspension to bottom out and make an awful thud. My shocks and struts are not that old either. Just a warning.

When daughter drove her 245 back to Syracuse after Thanksgiving breaks, it always had four mounted snow tires. The lake effect snow seems to strike early and deep in your neck of the woods.

195's will replace the 185's OK. Your speedometer will read lower than true speed by a few percent because, at a fixed speed, the larger tires will turn slightly slower than the originals.

Those tires will be just fine- I run those on my 240's with the 14" wheels all the time.
