Price? 700 1990

Looking for a new (used) wagon, I came across a 90 760 intercooler. Cosmetics were good, 138k miles, seems to run well. They want 6995 for it, I think it high, any opinions?

Re: Price? 700 1990

It is a horse of a difference but my one owner near mint 1990 780 was $6000 in 98, two years ago. Note too the $7100 the 245 SE (1991) brought on Ebay. The 240's will outsell an equivalent year 700.

700 vs 240 700 1990

I prefer the 700 model vs the newest 240, and the 940T over both.

The last 240's were stones, as were the n/a 7xx/9xx cars. Ok if you never went on the freeway, I guess.

Wow...just think what a 264 would sell for if it were made alongside an S60 today....

Re: 700 vs 240 700 1990

Yeah, but the resale price does reflect overall market wisdom that over rides individual opinions and tells us what most buyers want when they think Volvo. And that is 240/245. In th ewords of a famous modern philosopher "A family without a 245 is a sad thing to see, not really a family at all".

Chuck,

Re: Price? 700 1990

Chuck,

I agree with you. In July I purchased a 740 Turbo wagon with 96,000 miles, new turbo and tires, perfect body, and the interior needed a heavy cleaning. Toyota dealer wanted 7500- I offered 5400 and eventually drove it home. Offer a ridiculous amount and you just might be surprised.

Randy
