Bad Starter on 740 Station Wagon 700 92

My friends starter seems to be shot or

going on his 740 station wagon.

Is there anyone who can give a fair ballpark

estimate on the price of repair[parts&labor]

at a Volvo dealer. The region is in New Jersey,USA.

Thanks, rd

Re: Bad Starter on 740 Station Wagon 700 92

I too had a "bad starter"on my 1988 745. It was hit and miss in starting, but when it worked it worked well. I thought the solenoid was shot. Vut a long story short, I ended up replacing the main positive cable for about $8 (Canadian!) and problem solved. Check your cables; they do degrade!

Cheers,

RD:

email me privately, I have a tested good starter off my 89 740 that will fit yours perfectly. If you decide to not buy it from me, check the Brickboard classifieds. Good luck, Genaro.
