Don Foster's oil pump replacement technique???? 200 82

I 'm looking (not fondly)at replacing my oil pump. I've searched the archives and have been unsuccessful in locating Don Foster's procedure on changing the pump.

Any know the procedure?

    Yeah, I remember Don's post. Something about leaving the crossmember installed, and using Gumby's arms and Superman's x-ray vision to take out what you can't see. To me it was a technique for someone who has done it before, and not for a first-timer.

    I have to see what I'm working on (and still have to do the job about 3 times before getting it right).

    Good luck though - please post whatever you end up doing.

      And put it in, too. I do my best work with my eyes closed. It's all done by feel.

      Everyone's gotta do everything for a first time. But, yes, practice does make perfect.
