I've got a 1983 Turbo 2door with 210,000 miles..Original Turbo! Only kidding, it's on the second turbo but not much else. Just replaced the rear shocks and they were the originals. I bought it when I turned 18, drove it through college, then my sister drove it through college and beyond, and now I've got it back..My parents sold their 82 wagon with 300,000 miles on it for 4grand back in 92!

86 245 with about 380K on the car. Shows 195K on the clock but that died about 3 and a half yrs ago. Was keeping track of known mileage points but got lazy about 8 months ago when i was at 350K. Original driveline, AC just quit working last year. All commuter miles, 100 miles round trip. Absolutly no rust anywhere, have no salt in Louisiana. In the process of selling now though. Gettin tired of this car, it just won't die!!
Oil changes and routine cleaning of flame trap.

Hi all,
89 244dl w/auto tranny, 211k (miles) when the odometer quit 3 years ago. She probably has just over 300k now. Engine has never been torn apart. No leaks. Seems like the more I try to tackle little annoying things, something else goes wacky, so now I just leave her alone and do regular maintenence. I'm very confident I will drive this beauty over 500k!
PS - Splurge and get some Bridgestone Potenza RE950's. This tire is phenomenal in the rain and will tranform your driving experience!

My 86 240DL "had" 245,625 miles on it before I turned it over to my mechanic for engine rebuild. It was running OK with no major work done. Didn't need it but I'm putting it into another, older brick. The 240 rocker panels were starting to go (rust gremlins). It was on it's 2nd clutch. I guess that's what I get for only having a 1 stall garage till last summer.

Hi, my car "Norbert" a 1992 245 must be a pup. Norbert just rolled to 86,000 miles last night. Only minor gremlins so far (heater control valve, overdrive solenoid, loud center support bearing). I like the car and hope to have it for 10 more years.

My 1992 240 with 214,556 miles runs very well and hasn`t had any major work done to date. I have replaced the OD soleniod and rear shocks. The engine leaks a little oil but passes emissions inspections with flying colors each year. I don`t have any rust to speak of. For the last three years I`ve been averaging 180 miles each day for work and the car purrs along at 75 MPH on the interstate and 5 MPH on the crowded streets of New York City. I change the engine oil every 8000 miles. I`ll keep my emerald green friend until she falls apart!

Bought my '89 245DL new in November '88. Has 296,750 miles... no rust, no transmission or internal engine work ever. New radiator, orig alternator went out this week, bought 3rd replacement battery this summer and replaced brakes and rotors a few too many times. Installed ipd sways at 280,000... wish I had done it sooner. Bone stock expect for SONY radio and trailer hitch (my son tows his boat). Car is slow as a glacier, but "trucks my blues away." Have '94 944T also bought new... just not quite the same.

Hi boys `n girls.
I`m the proud owner of a 1986 245GL.First Volvo I bought about 2 years ago.
Currently has 194,500 mi.Clean cond.Leather interior in good shape.Winshield leaks! No rust 2nd owner. Some electrical gremlins but mechanically fine.Burns no oil.leaks small amt.Recently replaced EWH, battery, water pump, radiator, master cyl.,rotors and pads.Needs blower motor.Auto tranny could use rear bushing/front seal.Needs bushing replacement thruout suspension.Middle exhaust needs replacement soon.Alloys need to be redone.Probable the AMM needs replacement-runs plugged/unplugged.OD sensor gets wacky sometimes.(Hey,you don`t own these cars you have a relationship with them)!Friends and family don`t understand. What I know is that this car will likely last longer than anything they`re driving!Peace to all and have a good night!

Well I can add my own as well.
I'm the proud owner of a 1983 242 GLTi (Intercooler added aftermarket I assume). She's got 189,000 on her with nothing major ever done (according to service records.) Infact besides oil, plugs, timing belt, injector seals and filters; oh and a shift knob replacement, the only work I know has been done was the fuel pre pump and the water pump. Which I did myself.
As for problems other than a fading black coat of paint, and missing trim the car seems to have no other evil 'gremlins' lurking about in it. So I'm happy.
Long live the Turbo Bricks!
Jeff
