torque arm bushings 200 1982

I took a good look last night at the rear suspension and noticed that the torque arm bushings are pretty cracked up. I was going to go ahead and order them today, I noticed that there are two kinds - urethane / non-urethane, anything special about these?

Thanks,

Colin

Re: torque arm bushings 200 1982

My experience has been that if the torque arm bushings are bad then the rear trailing arm bushings are shot as well unless you have had those replaced at an earlier time. They of course are not as easily changed as any of the other rear bushings but worn rear trailing arm bushings sort of over shadow replacing any of the others. My 2 cents....

Re: torque arm bushings 200 1982

I had the trailing arm bushings replaced a couple of

months ago. When i took it back into the shop because

it still "clunked" a little, they just blew me off. Said something like "volvos just do this sometimes", what a load of crap.

Guess I should have just done the job myself in the first

place rather then let those butchers go to work.

Thanks for the help in such short order folks -

      Colin

    Hi colin,

Poly bushings are supposed to last longer and deform less, hence making the car allegedly handle better, although some find the ride they give rather harsh. I'd go with good quality non poly items meself, except maybe on a competition vehicle, but thats just my opinion.

    Rich.
