Lights wont turn on 900 94

last week a few times the lights started acting funny...

i usually leave the lights on all the time and the first thing that happened was the lights and the dash went out for about 2 seconds

then as fast as it went out, it came back on

then the same night i went to go home and the lights would not turn on with the car, but they turned on after about 5 or so seconds

tonight i was leaving the store and the lights would not turn on

the parking lights work just fine, and the dash turns on with them,

however when i turn it again to the headlight selection, all the lights go out

i had to drive home with my four ways on and the high beams when no cars where around

is this the switch?

i'm hoping its something i can fix maybe a relay?

not looking foreward to paying $400 right now, i just ran it out of it's warranty

thx -

Re: Lights wont turn on 900 94

Relay K on the 700 series and 900 series I am familiar with provides the dimmer switch with power for high and low beams. The catch is the hihg beam momentary position is powered from fuse 3. Relay K is the second from the left in the row of relay nearest the driver in the Central Electrical Unit.

If the headlights do not work except when the turn signal/headlight flasher is pulled towards you, you most likely have a bad relay. There is on off chance that the headlight switch could be failing to turn the relay on.

The installation of headlight relays will distribute the load and preserve realy K.
