B21-F engine goes out of time 200 82

Thanks to Don for his info.

The mechanic did say that the bearing surface on the center bearing showed some galling. What do you think? Thanks again.

"...mechanic did say that the bearing surface on the center bearing showed some galling. What do you think?"

I think I should never say "never," but a seizing I-shaft would be a mighty rare thing. I've never heard of it happening and can't imagine why it would. The I-shaft conditions are FAR different from the camshaft conditions.

However, if the shaft did seize I would expect it to either snap the belt or strip off a couple of teeth from the belt.

Does the cam ever jump timing or is it only the distributor?
