Noise under dash?? 700 1985

I just started hearing a soft sounding noise, almost sounds like a broken

vacuum line, under the center of the dash. Could anyone tell me what is under there that I should look at?

    The heat, AC, and defroster functions are operated by vacuum. You need to remove the plastic panel above the driver's legs and locate the source of the leak.

    Turbo cars have a line from the intake manifold connected to the boost gauge and the overboost switch.

    Cars with cruise control have vacuum lines running to the brake and clutch switches for the cruise control.
