Lumbar support in drivers seat has collapsed... 900 1991

so is there anything I can do without taking it to an upholstery shop to reattach or repair the bladder. Was sitting in the chair and pushing my back into the lumbar section of the seat and Pow the area collapsed! Maybe the bladder slipped off or broke.?

Suggestions please...

I did several 240's over past years and it is not difficult. You need a pair of wire cutters or needle nose pliers, and the necessary parts. There is a nylon "cage" that presses against your back, supported by wires that attach to the adjusting knob. It's not a bladder. Usually it is the wires that break/snap. Then again, if the arrangement on the 700/900 series is different, I don't know what I am talking about, and you can forget everything I said... :o)

I think it is the same.... I have a 940 and everything about the operation of the support is identical.

Be patient when you do this. You don't want to rip the upholstery when you release it and lift it out of the way. Go slow.

    Brad,

A white nylon component generally breaks. This can be repaired. I have successfully repaired a 740 and a 940. The repair is stronger than the original.

    For details visit 700/900 FAQS.

    Take care,

I have had both the plastic adjuster and the metal clips to the fabric webbing break at different times on our three 700 series.
