Has anyone seen these? the 8A and 16A are common, but my '73 uses several 5A...

Bussmann stills makes the GBC glass bullet fuses, also the GBF shorties (which you don't need). You're right, they're sure not common in fact I've only seen them recently in the Buss "German" emergency fuse pack (you get one in each pack of five). Any electronics or auto parts supplier should be able to order the 5 amp packs in from Cooper/Bussmann. Knowing ipd, I'm sure they'd order them in for you, but for a price.

The GBC auto fuses were mostly stocked in North America as VW parts since Volvo always leaned toward the plastic/ceramic types. The only places I see them these days are in old inventories where the VW buggers shop. I've got my own little stash, but it's not up for grabs.

Are you even finding the pointed ones in the common sizes? All I see around here are the flat ends......

My personal experience with the glass fuses hasn't been all that good ... in 2 of the 4 I replaced, the ends separated. Ah well, that's what I get for plucking 'em out of the junkyards ...

I've since chucked the other 2 also, and went back to the regular fuses.

I waited for someone else to answer in a positive manner, but oh well: I'm pretty sure I saw some in the chain auto store where I bought a supply of the 8, 16 and 25A fuses. If you don't find them soon, check back with me and I'll drop by the place and grab some.
