Electric - Turn signal 700 1989

My wipers sometimes operate when the right turn signal is used. With headlights on the wipers, both rear front and rear, operate. The wiper switches are in the off position. The bulb failure indicator is lit when this happens. Looks like a relay problem. Any thoughts?

    Re: Electric - Turn signal 700 1989

Not a relay problem. You have a ground problem with the turn signal on the washer pump side of the car.(left non turbo, right for turbo). The turn signal is back feeding through the washer pump wiring (seeking ground source) and activating the wiper relay. The washer pump and signal both ground to a metal multi spade device that is screwed to the sheet metal behind the light. Remove the screw for the grounding tab and clean things up, make sure all the ground wires are tight, and reattach the ground tab to the sheet metal with a new screw. Should clear up your problem.
