Temerature compensation board 200 1986

Where is the Temperature Compensation Board? And how do I remove it for cleaning?

Thanks,

Thad

Just as Mr. Haire said. These pictures illustrate his description.

After you get the comp board on your bench, resolder the connections and tighten the four female pin connectors. If your gauge is dead, you can try replacing the LM2902 quad op amp integrated circuit (I have a bag of replacements) and the generic PNP transistor.

    It worked for me.

Be sure to clean the mating male pins on the main cluster circuit board.

Tighten the two nuts securing the temp gauge and the two nuts securing the fuel gauge (they physically mount the gauges and act as electrical connections to the gauges).

Confirm that the voltage regulator (the small black transistor-like thingy shown in the top picture) is properly plugged in. If it fails, both gauges can either drop to zero or read high.

You have to remove the main instrument cluster and then take the back off the cluster. You will see the 3/4" x 3" board set into the back, inside of the main cluster.
