I went to see it and drive it around... it seems fine... interior is great... radio doesn't work right and the AC is not terrible cold... there is a sunroof and when i opened it i noticed some water collected in the channel on the driver's side. it rained cats and dogs yesterday and i figure thats why that was there. there does not appear to be any water in the car or headliner.

I figure it needs a new seal around the sunroof (can't be that expensive), some freon, and possibly a radio or speakers.

car seems quite clean.

If it is a Volvo radio, it is ready for the trash. I have NEVER had one last, except for some reason the 87s. I don't know what it is. The 90+ models radios SUCK!

Did you notice the odometer changing numbers?? Electronic speedo in post-1985 240's fail frequently and are an expensive deferrable repair. Does wear on clutch/brake pedals line up with mileage? Is there a sticker on the timing belt cover showing mileage when belt was changed? Are there any repair/maintenance records?

Have the Volvo tech check the a/c. He'll tell you if system was converted to R134a, and what repair costs might come to.

Sunroof drains can be seen. Front ones end sticking out of the A pillar between the front door hinges. Back ones are tied into the rear vent drains with a "Y" connector, visible in trunk forward of the trunk hinges. Look for rusty coloration. Look at absolutely all papers with car. Get phone numbers of PO's.

The sunroof drain holes are partially blocked. Clean 'em out. No seal needed.
