blower motor 200 1989

I just got this 240 and the blower motor makes a really loud screeching sound. Is there an easy fix for this or do I have to replace the entire thing?

Replace the entire thing

Get one off eBay where BB sponsor, RPR, auctions them starting at $69.99 as a loss leader.

Re: blower motor 200 1989

The blower housing is installed and then the rest of the car is built

around it. Really, this is a job either for a good mechanic or if

you want to learn how to take apart your whole dash. This is actually why

the previous person sold the car. This is a labor intensive job. Its

not really that tough. It's tedious and you do literally have to remove

almost everything from the dash. You don't need a lot of special tools,

which is good. I recommend that if you are going to try this yourself

that you replace the resistor for the motor and use the Bentley manual

procedure. I've done quite a few of these so if you feel competent to

try the job there is guidance here. Also a good time to replace the

heater valve if its not working.
