power steering woes 700 92

My '92 745T sems to be getting a bit stiffer in the PS department. I have new factory belts, flushed the fluid and the pump still seems to "growl" like it's low on fluid which it's not. It feels like it takes too much effort..not a lot mind you but more than my '98 V70 or my '94 Benz which I think is too stiff. Any ideas could it be a rack? No leaks any where? Thanks for responses specific to my problem.

    I have to agree with "Mark" on this one. I know waht ur talking about and i have also flushed the fluid with no change. It must be part of the normal ageing of a 740.

    Bob:

    You described the powering steering in my 92 745t exactly. I feel that the effort and noise is normal. At least normal for a car with 121,000 miles on it like mine has. The pump noise and steering effort in my car has not changed since I bought it used over a year ago; even after changing belts and a complete fluid flush. I would not worry or mess with it too much unless the noise or effort changes drastically for the worse.

      Mark: Thanks...I've just been told that replacing the p/s fluid with a synthetic may help. Sounds like our cars were hatched together.

        I was curious. How many miles on your 745t and what, if any, problems have you had with it lately. I do not run across too many 92's and would appreciate your input as I am still learning about mine.
