Homebrew Trailing Arm Bushing Tool ALL

I built my own trailing arm bushing tool, and it seemed to work well. I mentioned it during a reply to another post and some people asked me to put out the information. If I've left anything out or it doesn't load properly, let me know.

Here it is:

At 56K it should take about a minute to load.

Having used the real tool, I think you have made a real winner there.

Bravo!

Re: Homebrew Trailing Arm Bushing Tool ALL

Neal,

Very nice! Will that page be up for awhile or is it going to come down soon? I like the idea of the nut and bolt being replaceable without having to refabricate other pieces. IMO the Volvo tool would be much better if it was designed to have the stressed pieces easily replaced like yours does.

Re: Homebrew Trailing Arm Bushing Tool ALL

Thanks, Randy. Yep, the page will be there for the foreseeable future. And I'm happy to say that after pulling the trailing arm bushings on my car, there was no sign of wear on the threads that I could see. That's why I chose grade 8 hardness for the bolt and nut.

I didn't mention it on the web page, but the tool will also push the new bushing back in. Just have to reverse the hardware.
