Re: warning ( 200 1989

John!

I would suggest that you phone Howie. I've not done business with him

but there might be a good reason he didn't pay - for example maybe

the merchandise never arrived. I've had a couple cases of that in my

dealings. In the latest one, I ordered 5 double glazing panels from

Andersen Windows (a highly reputable company) in response to a gas

bill of $527. About a week and a half later I received one by FedEx.

After some research, FedEx's first response was that the other package

had been signed for by someone whose name began with MAR....

I responded that there was no such person and that they should check

the location to where it was delivered. Turns out it was returned to

the factory because it was damaged by FedEx, so they are supposedly

sending me more.

Also a few years ago IPD was trying to get D-Jet computers to modify

and was offering $35 for them. At the time I had one and carefully

sent it to them. As far as I know they have NEVER gotten it.

Then there's the autoharp case, books, shirts and zippo tape measure

that my wife sent to me when I was in Augusta after Esther's accident.

Thus far after filing inquiries and a letter to the Mail Recovery Unit

in Atlanta, I still have had no response after 54 weeks.

I would think an officer in VCOA would be pretty unlikely to knowingly engage in bad business practices given the easy access to means of

painting him in unflattering colors.

So, I strongly suggest you give him a chance to explain.

Word is bond. That is the way I do Buisness. I would never screw someone. And anyone who has ever bought anything from me I have gone out of my way to be cool about it, and make certain they are happy.

WORD IS BOND

I did not know he was a officer.. Maybe he should give me a one year membership.. I see that as fair..

Re: warning ( 200 1989

It sucks that howie screwed ya. I have had good luck with howie and purchased a turn signal lense from a 74 145. He was prompt and fair. If I ever work with him again I will have to ask some questions.

Peter

Re: warning ( 200 1989

(here is a copy of an E mail I sent to Jon Knauer explaining the deal)

The first experience I had with him was for an OLD 70s manual (orange in color hard cover) don't remember what model.

He offered $12 for it. I did not see the money for over a month, and when I got the mail, he had a very nice apology note in it. He was so nice that I sent him the money back. He had told me he would send me some old car brochures and catalogs. I returned the money to him because he seemed " like a stand up guy" I never saw anything.

Months later I posted that I had a factory radio, and 4 center hub caps. I told him I'd trade him for postage stamps (current usable ones. better than a money order ya know) and some of those cool brochures (that i never got the first time)....

NOTHING! HE SENT ME NOTHING! this was in ? Nov, or December....

If he apologized it would be no big deal.. But now that I think about it ,

those center caps were at least worth $40 .. I got Rooked!

Ya know. I trusted him cause he is a brickster....

This was stuff that I thought someone could use, and the way I see it, we all gotta try and help each other. But this dude screwed me. Not like it was anything that had cost me that much money, but when I picked up those Caps I had intended to use them , but they did not fit. My time and effort hunting these caps down should have been worth something to the jackhole!

(By the way , I am being very cool about this, because I firmly believe that what goes around comes around.. He may be a nice guy... Who Knows??)

Re: warning ( 200 1989

/// Does he have a site? Check for real address with the internet registry. Don't ship unpaid or send cash money to people who use non paid email sites such as hotmail, yahoo, etc. Ship COD, use credit cards, pay pal for instance, and use internet escrow for new deals. Internet escrow costs 2 percent or a $5 minimum to escrow the deal. You can find an escrow site on ebay or search on Google. California's Attorney Geneeral recently published their approved list. If the internet site for the escrow service says they don't do business in California, stay away.

There is no such thing as an ammount too small to escrow. The size of the deal is not important. A web fraud that takes you for $20 has probably taken a hundred people for that same ammount. It adds up. Don't contribute.

Re: warning ( 200 1989

the last part of my one post (City Verses Country) is just me making an implication that he may think I ma a hick...

(I am a bit of a hick but I dislike most sports,Drink Knob Creek bourbon and shoot guns.. I have over 1400 compact discs and 75% are electronic music.I have odd hobies, not those of a hick. I am not too normal)

Howard has a cool postcard/ buisness stationary, with a picture of a 73 p 1800 es on it..

He lives in Massapequa New York.. I know where he lives. But that is not the point.....
