restoring 242 turbo 200 83

Hi guys,

Brought home my first 242glt and it was tough.Had been sitting on a lot for 18 months.Turbo gone,reason for selling,but my first concerns are the weatherstripping around sunroof,windshield(rubber cracked and disintegrating)and rear trunklid.Any suggestions?Front seats are toast.Down the road repair.

Dont know about the motor.Ive got b21ft on stand just waiting for rebuild,mods.Got intercooler,intake from b230ft.

Shold I just put the turbo I have from extra motor on 242 to check the cond of motor or should I go ahead and install intercooler and intake man?

why not do a compression test on the motor in the car? Or if you have compressed air, a leak-down test...
