Steering column intermediate shaft replacement 700 88

I have to replace my intermediate shaft because the U-joints are way too loose. Is it advisable to replace it with a tight used one or should I buy a new one? I hear the new ones are very expensive. What are your thaughts?

    Used ones work very well ---- new stuff is crazy. Be sure to lube up the U joints before installing as they tend to go dry. There are no fittings, but you can oil or grease them. Might consider soaking in a can of oil prior to installing.
