socket size to remove oil cooler pancake? 200 1983

I want to remove a turbo's oil cooler and fit it onto my 1983 245. I need to know what size deep socket to get so I can remove the pancake fitting that the oil filter screws onto. Also I picked up a 5 bar gaugre and sender but I am not sure which connector is for the idiot light and which is the gauge? I assume the idiot light would have continutiy on a bench test but what ohms for the gauge connecter could it be very low as well?

Re: socket size to remove oil cooler pancake? 200 1983

Could never find a large enough socket, so I have used a pipe wrench or slip jaw plier to grab it. It isnt on that tightly and should give little problem. Also, these wrenches may leave a little bite on the bolt, but it really doesnt show down deep in the engine compartment.

The sender---need a book to check it out or a little trial and error works just fine.
