Re: aftermarket cd players 700 89

Be sure you have a CD capable radio, such as the CR-814 in your car. Others models, like the TD-6141 (and others) don't have the interface built in. There are even a few anti-theft models without the CD feature.

If yours has the mini-DIN in back and CD button on front, any Alpine changer using the "M-bus" system will work. The models numbers start with "CHM-S6". That "M" is the important letter. You'll also need the Volvo-to-Alpine adapter.

Re: aftermarket cd players 700 89

A previous post said you can use an Alpine unit with the Volvo factory unit. But I would consider replacing the head unit because if you have the original radio its lifespan is probably limited at this point. If you replace the head unit in the dash you can do just about anything you would like. Check out crutchfield.com for options, they have the wiring harness to work with Volvos so you can have professional results.
