oh boy, this can't be good 200 1990

For some time i have been waging battle against my check engine light and an apparant lean mix. The codes have usually been 1-1-3, 2-2-1, 2-3-1. I've gone over the entire fuel system, (pumps, injectors, regulator, filter) and made no change, then i looked for air leaks and found none. I had replaced the O2 sensor at the beginning of the problems. I have never been able to make any serious change in the condition or get the light to stay out. However the car has always ran fine but was always running slightly lean, so i did not worry too much until..... it happened. Suddenly the car stalled. Restarted but ran poorly, started to lose power at speed as if the gas was cut off. Idle was very unstable kind of a put, put, vrooooooom, put, put put put vroooom... well you get the picture. remembering recent posts of similar problems i suspected the AMM, besides it is about the only thing that hadn't been changed since my original problem started (at about 80K miles i'm now at 120K). So I unplugged the AMM and started the car, idles better, infact it runs better across the board with the AMM unplugged. I called local parts stores, no one even has a listing, called the local Volvo/Saab specialist - he wants $723 for a new one. OUCH, but he did describe to me another way to confirm my problem by watching for the burn-off with it disconnected from the air box. This is where the real trouble became apparent. The AMM burn-off checked out OK! BUT the intake hose is FLOODED with oil. IT is nasty. I had found this earlier this year and had cleaned it out when I changed the intake gaskets, i didn't think too much of it at the time, accumulation of some oil is going to happen over ten years and 120K miles, but what i found now has happened in less than 3000 miles, and there was a lot! Anyway, in past experience oil in the air cleaner usual means excessive engine wear, and i would guess the oil in my intake hose (and AMM) is screwing up the readings. Am I missing something?
