Kragen brake pad why so cheap? 2 different price ? 200 1987

I want to replace my brake pad .. but Kragen have 2 different price

$20 for the front pad it come with life time warranty

$13 for the front pad it come with 2 years warranty.

What is the different is these 2 pad ? why are the price so different ?

the cheaper one are junk? or we just paid for the warranty on the more epxensive one ?

Any one know about Kragen product?

Is it worth the extra money for the life time warranty ?

Or the fact is brake pad is just break pad ?

Thanks for your input

You just call Kragen and tell them you want a front pad and your car year and model and they will tell you that they have them at 2 different price..

chip one with 2 years warranty and the life time is $20 in my town here in santa cruz they can ship them any where.

831-438-0842 give them a call may be they do have a kragen near you.. call and fine out there 800 number ...

Hope this will help.

Kragen is a retailer, not a manufacturer. They generally carry name brand products (the east coast store name is Pep Boys and they carry Raybestos).

Warrantees, other than the minimum required by local laws, is insurance. The better the coverage, the more likely the insurer (manufacturer) will have to pay out, the more it costs.

A 5 year battery and a 7 year battery from the same manufacturer are most likely identical in construction. Now guess which one you pay more for, and why.

Parts like mufflers are different. The warranty is for as long as YOU own the car, and they're banking that most cars will have been sold when the next muffler is needed. It's great for sales.

Lifetime brake pads (which I've been using for many years) are probably the company's top-of-the-line goods. If it's a known brand, they're not putting their name on sub-standard brake parts.

Unless your car is really good on pads or you don't expect to have it long, spending the extra $7 means the next round is on them...and the next...and the next. Just save your receipt.
