brake squeel and groan 700 1987

Guys, my brakes squeel when lightly applied and groan when nearly stopped. I had the fronts turned but pads were fine. The rear pads are good also. One peculiar thing is there is never any brake dust on the wheels, does this mean that the pads are too hard? Thanks for any info.

P.S. Is there a board like this for Mercedes?

After much trouble with front squeaking brakes I put on organic pads (Repco) with anti-squeak shims. Don't forget new anti rattle springs (Carlsen). Helps a lot for noise!

Organic pads don't last so long, but your rotors stay longer.

I think now after all the main problem is the bushing on the brake/caliper holder ( sorry , I don't know the exact term). I have never found out what is the correct place for this bushing. (Can be moved)

I have Bendix . Don't know about Girling.

Yes, the pads could be too hard. Are they aftermarket? I recall the techs at a Midas Muffler shop telling me that they always use OEM Volvo pads - anything else they tried would invariably squeal. Volvo pads don't have a really long life, but they work very well, and are quiet.
