Turbo, cooling... 200 84

My 84 242GLT intercooled, has oil blow by (seals are going ?? Gone..?) plan on getting rebuild kit (seals only)...came across a Volvo 245 (82) also intercooled..and water cooled...know anything about this type turbo...looks just like mine except it has connections to the radiator...any info would be appreciated...thanks..Al

    Al,

    Later model, and nearly all replacement turbos had water cooled bearings. I believe all B21FT engines came without the water cooling. If you are replacing the turbo, or even just the center section, go for the water cooled version.

      Skip...Thanks for the info...since the price was right....I brought it home with me....sort of gut feeling that this was the way to go...have to attend to the original either way....Thanks again...Al
