Please could I have as much info on b21 head and b23 block 200 80

I have a 1980 dl with a engine that now has a bad connecting rod bearing... she has 12 months to live and this is with very short shifts by me. So im looking into the engine department. I have ruled out putting in the same engine(I crave more) ruled out a turbo engine (too much to switch out) and the v8 sounds nice but I dont want to open a credit card to get a new engine) so I settled with the using my re-built head on a b23 block i belive is how it works.

So now Im wondering if many people have done this and I would like as much info as possible because I do plan to do this and I have not too much knowlage on the issue.

Thanks so much

adam

I'm not sure if the gains of a B23 over a B21 block make much difference. I think a B21 is easier to find. Either way, your B21 head will work on a B23 block. What kind of FI do you have? I think the B21 and B23 block are virtually the same.
