Air Conditioning Spitting Foam 700 1992

Has anyone had the experience of foam being spit out of the air conditioning vents? This crap is very oily and sticky and black, and gets all over one's clothes.

Any way to get rid of it? Any way to remedy the problem?

Thanks!

It's not freon? Sounds kinda like it.

The old disintegrating foam trick! Actually, it happens to all of us after about eight years. The foam comes off the flapper door inside. Wait about three months and it will be mostly gone. My kid's car has two large chunks caught behind the vent outlet (does anyone know how to pry off the vent outlet, the one with the louvers?)

I did it when I got my car but that was two years ago, I am pretty sure you had to take the trim under the vent off and there were two screws, but I may just have had to pry gently on one side and it popped out (I'd try that first).
