"Copper Clad" Head Gaskets 200 84

Brickheads,

First of all--big thanks to those of you that replied to my compression test questions. It helped a great deal.

I have a friend who swears by copper clad (copper on both faces of the mating surfaces) head gaskets for his MG.

Any thoughts on using such a beast in a Volvo? It seems like it would make sense but you know how that goes...

If it is a good idea can anyone let me know where to buy one or what brand to look for?

Thanks again,

What are stock Head Gaskets clad with? 200 84

Didn't know if your car is a turbo, but if non turbo stick with stock. Bazillions of miles on stock gaskets...

I have nothing against copper, but copper clad what? Is the rest of the gasket high quality? If so and it matches stock, heck, go for it and report back. Not exactly sure what the stock gaskets are coated with, maybe a copper alloy????

If your car is a built turbo you have some other options per the t-brick guys. (pure copper, oringed/wire sealed cylinders)
