Access to lightbulbs in dashboard 700 1990

I am in the process of hunting down and replacing every burned out lightbulb in my 1990 745.

My next quarry: the bulb(s) which illuminate the

a) headlamp switch

b) the electric antenna lock-out switch

Does anyone have suggestions on how to get at these bulbs?

Do I go in from the front? from the bottom?

Where do I start?

Many thanks in advance to all respondents!

George in PA

Re: Access to lightbulbs in dashboard 700 1990

I am currently replacing the same bulbs in my 760 T. The face plate pulls forward. The switches are mounted in the face plate. The bulb fits into a light bar that lights all three switches. The bulb has to come from the dealer because it has a plastic base attached to it. It is not an item from the local parts house.

Good luck,

Steve

There is a single bulb that illuminates the three switches to the left of the steering column. To access the bulb, gently pry the plastic molding that surrounds the switches and the headlamp switch. Start prying by the left vent and work your way towards the steering column.

What about the head lamp switch? How to change the bulb that illuminates the switch?

My main head light switch is just a solid knob, but the symbols below this knob are illuminated. That's done by just one bulb for all the sitches. The same thing about the switches at the right of the steering column.

good luck,

Yes, only pry the trim from the heater control toward the ignition lock. One bulb lights both switches.
