Considering 1988 780 Bertone, but 6 cyl... 700 1988

I am confused about the 6 cylinder opinions expressed in the recent "88+ 6 cylinder" thread. So is any 1988 or later V6 OK? Would this car have the "better" 6 cylinder engine?

I was thinking of a 240 for a third car (have 1997 850 and an E-150) for around town hops, BUT the idea of stylin' in a Bertone has an appeal. They are asking $2900 for a 1988 with 143K, all work done by Volvo Cert mechanic, Black w/tan...

Thanks.

    Re: Considering 1988 780 Bertone, but 6 cyl... 700 1991

I've had an '89 and I have a '91 Bertone right now, both with the turbo 4 cylinder. I love the cars, despite the fact that they can be on the expensive side to get some interior and trim parts for. Still, well worth it for me as I regularly get compliments and "what kind of volvo is THAT?" and such. Check out www.geocities.com/motorcity/garage/6570. It's an excellent site that does a good job analyzing the little differences year-to-year between the 780s. Good luck, and feel free to contact me with any questions.

The car you are talking about has the latest, greatest PRV v-6. Just adjust the valves, change the oil and coolant regularly and fix any oil seal leaks that occur.

    Those Bertones are nice cars!
