Calling all experts: Wire identification. 700 88

I'm wondering what that bundle of bright red wires with a black junction box under the dash is for. It's on the drivers side on Turbos and on the passenger side on NA.

Concerning 88 740's

It does not seem to be part of the engine and computer harness.

That is refered to as the Positive Terminal in the factory wiring diagram. Power comes in from the battery (two wires), and is spliced there to supply 1. ignition switch (two wires). 2. Central electrical unit (relays, fuses, etc.). 3. Bulb failure relay. 4. Headlight switch. 5. Bus for fuses 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

You are welcome. I am still trying to qualify to such calling.
