"Z Max" oil additive 700 89

Anyone have experience adding this product to their motor oil? worked great? didin't work but no problems? didn't work but created problems?

    only experience I have with additives was a "engine cleaner". After using it the engine in the '70 140 that we tried it in seized within a few blocks, needless to say after that experience we never used any additives since. As was posted earlier if you change your oil when you are supposed top there is realy no benifit to additives.

    Kevin is right BG is an excellent product line. My question is why are thinking about adding this product to your oil. In Volvo's owner manuals

    it states that no additive's are required. And they strongly suggest

    that they could harm youe engine. If you are changing your oil on a regular basis 3K - 5K there is no need to mess with additives.

      Thanks Al and Kevin for the feedback. I saw the infomercial and while I'm a religious 3m mile oil changer, the motors in the '89 760glt wgn and the '93 850glt have 135,000 miles each and our '82 244 has 180,000 miles.

      Engines in all are excellent and I want to keep them that way so I'm always lookin' for an "edge" to help me.

      While the owners manual is gospel, there are changes in technology etc that make new products/processes worth investigating.

    There is a post about Zmax in the aftermarket board. Take a look at that, it might help u out a little more.

      Dont know about that brand but....I use "BG" MOA oil additive sometimes

      to cleanse things a bit. works well & BG products are the best money can

      buy. BG 44k fuel system additive is excellent, also BG makes a 3 part fuel system cleaning pack that you inject through a fuel injection cleaning machine. I am a service writer so my local BG reps give me all this stuff

      free. Local ford & ?? dealers sell this through the parts dept, cannot buy BG stuff at chain auto stores. They also sell a fuel water dispersant that really works, AT conditioner, PS fluid conditioner, ect...ect......
