compatable rims 700 87

I want to put snows on my 760 (1986). I have a set of snows on rims for my 1987 740..are they compatable? what rims are? If I call a junkyard, do I just ask for steel 760 rims? I remember that on my old Datsun I could use rims from an american car....

Yes, I'm quite sure that they are compatable. Somewhere on the wheels the size should be stamped on it in this form: "6Jx15x20." The first number is the width in inches, the second is the diameter in inches, and the third is the offset in millimeters. The 760 and 740 use the same offset (either 20mm or 25mm), and they use the same bolt pattern (5x108mm).
