rear hatch 200 88

Hi everyone

I drove my 245 here to Boulder,Co. and I came across a rear hatch for my wagon. My rear hatch is rusting very badly due Chicago winters,so I found one here for about 150.00 which is in very good condition.Could someone out there give me some direction as to how install this hatch and the rewiring part? I would like to do this before I leave going back to Chicago on Nov. 26 because I will be hauling some other things back and might not have the room to bring back.

The short answer is, unbolt the old hatch, remove it, position the new hatch, bolt it up.

In there somewhere you gotta fiddle with the wires.

If the replacement is from a late-'80s wagon, everything should work. The harnesses unplug easily under the headliner.

If you're successful, keep some stuff off your old tailgate, such as the glass, wiper motor, key lock barrel (so your original key will work), wiper pivot 'n linkage, latch mechanism, handle, electric door lock actuator.

    Also keep the gas pistons.
