No heat in cabin 900 1995

Hi.

I'm looking for a cause for little or no heat in the cabin. Temp gauge rises to mid point in usual time, but will run up almost to red line and then back to mid point under power. Fan is running after car stops, did not do this for first 220,000 miles. Thermostat replaced. No lose of coolant noticed. Heat will be available at start up and for the next 5-10 minutes , then cold air starts. No smell of coolant in cabin or apparent problem with heater core. Not that I have ruled out this possibilty.

Any help would be appreciated.

Has the engine been disturbed? I hasd this on a 900 and the flow and return pipe to the heater were swapped round

Re: Wow 900 1995

Holy sh*t. You have 220,000 miles on a 5 year old car??

Check your heater control valve.
