fuel 200 83

Had trouble with my fuel pump in my 83 244ti but that is now fixed, now I still can not get it to start it does not fire at all. I think that it might be suffering from the same problem as if I ran it out of gas, but not entirely sure. How would I go about priming the system. I tried to pour fuel into the trottle body and that makes it run for a few seconds, but that would now prime the system.. I am not really sure what to do here. Any Suggestions? thanx.

    Re: fuel 200 83

Just cranking the engine should after a couple tries prime the system.

But, if you want to prime it without running here is what you can do.

If you jumper with a Fused 16 amp jumper wire with alligator clips from

fuse 5 to fuse 7 this will make the fuel pumps run without the key on.

after only about 10 to 20 seconds this will fill the whole fuel system

and it will be at full operating pressure. If it doesn't start then you

may have something else bad. If your fuel pump relay doesn't get power

from fuse 13 and/or its not getting ignition pulses from the coil term

one then the relay won't turn on the fuel pumps.
