Well known 240 fuel pump inlet hose problem...symptoms are lack of power at low fuel tank volume...

What's the corresponding D-Jetronic fuel pump issue? Where the heck is the pre-pump on the 1975 164E? Any ideas on where to look for low fuel pressure?

Doesn't the D-jet have a fuel pressure regulator mounted in the rail? Has an adjusting screw (with lockhut) protruding from the top?

Is pleading to be set for 28 psi?

And is waiting for you to connect the pressure gauge at the cold start "T"?

As I recall from my D-jet days, you can rig up a "mixture control" by wiring a 10k linear potentiometer is series with the engine temperature sensor. Increasing the resistance mimics a colder engine, and the FI ecu compenstates by enriching the mixture. You can dial in the fake "coldness" you want, and in effect, dial in the amount of enrichment you want. Because the temp sensor remains in the circuit, the ecu receives a signal that tracks with engine temp, and will track the mixture accordingly.
